On October 1, 1989, 43 children were born under mysterious circumstances: their mothers were not yet pregnant on the morning of that day. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an eccentric billionaire, made it his mission to track down as many of these children as possible because he recognized their extraordinary potential, which ultimately manifested itself in superpowers. He managed to adopt seven children. However, when he wanted to adopt the 8th child: Isabella Fernández, the mother refused to give up the child and Isabella led a "normal life" until she ran away from home to find Reginald Hargreeves so that he could help her to control her powers. But after Reginald died, Isabella gets to finally met his children unaware that she has to stop the apocalypse where she gets to met a certain man who has a passion for knives and saving lives.

They formed the Umbrella Academy. Elena Romero was a normal girl that hadn't discovered what, if anything, was extraordinary about her. The only thing worth noting is her amazing ability to suffer through hellish dates and live with an over-dramatic mother and an addict of a brother. Some could say her super power was making her dysfunctional family appear functional. She was the glue that held her family together, she was their remedy.
