When a bunch of kids meddle in a quarry they awaken a creature. The creature would wake every summer to feed. A camp was built by the old quarry. Over a thousand people would go missing because of the creature. The only person known to survive is Old Man Marley, who said the key to hiding from the beast was silence but the creature wasn't alone, it multiplied and now they roam the earth. Cities were on lockdown while children and teenagers were sent to the countryside in camps where they'd be protected. But the camp is known for being broken into by the creatures where. Nancy and her boyfriend, Kirk, and many other kids are sent to that camp where they learn how to survive this apocalypse.
