Shadowpaw has been an apprentice for only a few moons, and enjoys her life: she likes hanging out with her friends and going out hunting with her mentor. But after she receives a prophecy telling her that she is destined to save the clans, the young cat must make important decisions, some of which could affect every clan in the mountains.
This story isn't about her, though. This is the tale of everyone else. Cats Shadowpaw relies on, cats she must leave behind, and others that she has never even talked to.

Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it.
