People say you see your life flash before your eyes when you die. But for me it flashed before my eyes the moment our eyes met. Only, it wasn't my life that flashed before my eyes it was someone elses.
I should have known better. I shouldn't have stayed. The life I saw was bathed in blood. And yet. I knew this was the world I belonged too. Worser yet.
I could feel it in my bones. I wasn't just drawn to it. I was meant to rule!
Scarlett was never anyone more than ordinary, her life a textbook example of what not to do to get ahead. Between school and work, there is nothing more than a series of endless hours of exhaustion. But all of that ends the day she meets Zane.
