Gideon Saint is fairly certain Saxon bowmen are more agreeable than Year 10s. Life is going good, or at least okay. He's surviving British public school, newly emancipated from his parents, and in his spare time he and his Welsh friends are surviving as rebels. But they can't forever, and King Henry is proposing a bargain. In return for Gideon's help against the French, namely Joan of Arc, England will grant Wales some level of independence. But Joan of Arc is a formidable adversary, and Gideon is well aware King Henry is not to be trusted. The fate of Wales hangs in the balance.


Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is probably gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Chaos. Adventure. Invading France. Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take.

Gideon is allied with the Lancasters but at the moment the current threat is supernatural, and hunting both houses. As usual, living people die, dying people live, Richard III is involved somehow. Fourth wall breaks galore. Found families. Everybody is probably gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history and feel the overwhelming urge to join the Richard III society, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Trigger/Content Warnings: some mild crude humor (middle school level) and some profanity. Brief mention of abusive families. Fantasy violence. Some moderate peril and frightening scenes.

Trigger/Content Warning: some profanity throughout. Mild innuendos. A main character's death is discussed at length. Troubled childhood/abuse is discussed. A character with autism is tortured by memories of being put in restraints. The final chapter contains extremely graphic violence and disturbing imagery that may be upsetting to some readers.

Sequel Series to Last Knights of Cambia series, and the Days of the Dead trilogy, ergo it contains spoilers for those. Similar narrative style and tone, that is if you want English history explained like Lemony Snicket, then this is for you. Ahem. Living people die, dead people live. Swords. Epic Battles. Mysterious riddles. Coded messages. True love. Traitors. Murder. Found families. Yes, Henry V is here and he is awesome. Did we mention swords? Tombs are described in loving detail. People are not. Yes you may learn something about the battle of Shrewsberry but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Content/Trigger Warning: A battle is depicted at length, relatively graphic blood/gore associated with that. A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality.
