One summer; three months, ten weeks, ninety-five days, and two thousand, two-hundred and eight hours. The exact countdown of moments from the very last time Emma had seen Zachary and he'd shattered her heart. The agonizing space that seemed to co-exist between Emma Collins and Zachary Williams. One summer was all it took for everything to shatter in Emma Collins' world. Her mother cheated, and became the 'depressive alcoholic' that pitied herself. Her father got laid off and became the totally opposite of her mother, a violent man towards any breathing thing that won't do what he says. Dustin, her older brother by two years that Emma used to be so close with, is now distant as ever shutting her out and becoming an alcoholic as well. Emma's home, isn't home anymore. Zachary had always been there for her, he knew things at home were collapsing and he had left her when she needed him most. Now, Summer is over and Emma is forced to come face to face with her problems.

Book 1 of The Secrets That Bind Us series Jazlyn Monroe is stuck in what feels like an endless cycle. Addiction, trauma, and depression have her convinced there's no where to go but down. That is, until Nicholas Kade moves to town. Fresh off a move to escape his own troubled past, he's determined to build a better future for himself. Persistent, understanding, and kind in a way Jazlyn isn't used to, Nick refuses to be pushed away by the girl who looks like she's seconds away from falling apart. But letting someone in isn't easy, and as Jazlyn begins to trust Nick, the past they've both tried to bury begins to resurface. Her ex boyfriend that refuses to let go, his struggles with the life he left behind, and secrets they've both buried for too long start to creep back in. Jazlyn will have to decide once and for all if she's finally willing to fight for herself, and for a future with Nick that seems too good to be true. Can Nick unconditional love mend her broken soul or will Jazlyn's scars be too permanent to heal?
