The cartographer, who fell into disfavor, is trading an intoxicant substance that he smuggled into the feast to obtain a high post in the new empire. With some luck and lots of eloquence, he can bend the path of his destiny to establish peace in the rival home worlds.
Ardor overcomes his confusion and notices that creation does not fully mature to fruition because the ruler of the inner realm roams between the stars and immerses himself in creation, while others break down his omnipotence in favor of their own races.
