Gideon Pines was send to spend the summer with his cousin, Pacifica Southeast, in a not well known city in Oregon named Reverse Falls.

As he gets there he finds a mysterious journal with a hand and a number three in it, unaware of who wrote it. What called his attention in that journal were the things written in it.

After a traumatic event in Reverse Falls, Dipper and Mabel made a trip back to their birth city, and after a year or two, they returned to Reverse Falls and reopened the Tent of Telepathy. The thing is none of the twins were mentally stable yet, but they came back to town as demanded by their grunkle.
