It was easy when her dad died. It was easy when her mom moved off and left her on her own. It was even easy when everything startled spiraling downwards. And Calypso Jung isn't sure why. Maybe something's just wrong with her head; maybe she just can't get sad about anything other than her own selfish being.
Or maybe it's the thin, silver chain around her neck, and the tiny pendant hanging off the end with the quote-unquote "mood stone" that decides to randomly blink on and off.
Whatever it is, she's feeling invincible. Independent. Spontaneous.
She's got world-tour-worthy airplane tickets from her wealthy mother as an apology, and a desire to go off the grid. To become unsearchable, to get lost.
What she doesn't expect is to have the sudden need to leave in the middle of class and hop on a plane.
What she doesn't expect is to have a companion on the way. Enter Peter Galante, a classmate she's never exchanged more than six words with.
