Maybe it's his seemingly aloof behavior. Maybe it's his inability to really connect with anyone within our 3d reality, well besides Braxton of course, but he's a special case, or his love verging on obsession with the anime world. Alex has always had trouble grappling with his existence within the mortal human world. He'd trade anything for a chance at isekai-ing (transmigrating himself) into a new supplemented world, where he'd live out his life as a shounen protagonist. Of course these were all just fantasies to quell his welling sense of loneliness. He was touch and love deprived, an arbitrary badge of honor many otakus like him earnestly try to strip from themselves. But maybe rnjesus was on his side, or he gained the real world equivalent of a 'Y/N' moment, a chance at greatness that all heroes receive. But just like them, the chance of failure is just as considerable. Alex's encounter with Romain, Braxton's hot, single, middle aged dad, whose build rivaled that of a Greek god, making any mortal being fall to their knees, would change the course of his otaku life forever. But hey, these things only happen in romance anime and fanfiction, right? I'm not a protagonist, just an otaku!
