One night Cole has a terrible nightmare that Tabitha turns into a monster, but wakes up to find out that it was all a dream. Although, something about that dream felt so life-like. He decides to tell everyone about it but they all make fun of him say that he was just being a scaredy-cat.

However, that day does come and Tabitha turns into a dragon due to the dragon DNA in her blood like Lloyd's. She destroys the monastery and hurts many citizens that were there. During her frightened rampage, the cops and several elemental masters; including the ninja take her down; tying her to the ground like a wild beast.

Cole tries his best to stop them but is knocked out by someone. He wakes up and decides that he was going to free Tabitha and find a way to bring her back.

But first, he's gonna need a team.

A new one in fact. Because his old one... would only get in the way of his plans.

(This takes place after Crystalized but the ninja still have their powers and Harumi is still evil.)
