there's lots of things you can be bullied for your shoes probably wouldn't come to your mind first. But for Jay that's what all people made fun of him for. The pink and purple butterfly shoes he wore every day as a reminder of his mother who passed away a few years back. They were hers when she was in school. They are custom made by his grandfather. With pink and purple shoelaces and the shoe itself being purple. And the plastic butterfly wings on the back being a mix of pink, blue, yellow and purple. Most people would call the shoes girly but for him they were just any other piece of clothing. As Jay grows up he writes in his diary about his daily life at school, home and with his friends. Even though there's some bad things that happen in his life he does not let it bring him down. Because whatever happens he always has his mom by his side in the form of his favorite shoes.
