What makes a monster? Does the appearance make a monster or does the behavior? In this world, there are both. The merefolc (water people) and wolcnfolc (cloud people) look like what most would classify as monsters, but the eardfolc (earth people) are the ones who truly behave like monsters. This story follows Alana, a merefolc, whose blood boils for the beauty of the surface, but her fear of the monsters who lurked there, the monsters that killed her parents, has kept her from fulfilling her desires of seeing the surface. Until one day, she simply decided, to hell with it all, and finally went to the surface. This story will be about her journey of all the other wolncfolc and eardfolc she met there.

Monsters don't exist but humans do. Humans have a talent for destroying anything beautiful about to bloom. When the last human on Earth died, she died like a hero going home. In a world without a future, each passing moment is the end of the world. It is the year 2136, seven years from the supposed extinction of the human race. Along with Axel, a group of teenage boys wake up in a train with no memory of who they are or where they are going. They make up the remainder of the human population. They soon discover they are much further away from home then they thought. When they look outside, they realise the sky is black tinged with blood, the buildings are made of flesh and plumes of smoke escape from the cracks of the scorched grounds. Time does not exist here. Even the sun and moon has abandoned them. They quickly discover they are not alone leading Axel to believe he isn't the good guy after all. Truth to be told, he doesn't even think he's human. When Axel discovers something far worse then he could ever imagine, he knows no matter how much he wants it some stories won't have a happy ending. In fact, this might be the final ending for humans.
