When the Water Burns

Kara has been fighting since she was born. She had killed more creatures than she could count, and had more scars than all of the people she had even known combined. The scars of battle. The creatures she fought were monsters, many of them still at least half human.

Kara doesn't give anyone mercy. She had already given one person a chance- one too many. The only person she had even trusted left her in a burning building with nowhere to escape. The experience has left her to never trust anyone or anything again.

Until she meets Adam. Adam is the all-around good guy. The kind of person who never kills anything if he doesn't have to- and the type of person to have secrets. Kara is attracted to his good looks and charms, but little does she know, he isn't completely human. He's an Aquatic, one of the most dangerous types of half-human in her book.

But Adam knows what he's doing. He has a quest to help Kara find her true form. She is truly an Ignestic, the hybrid that earns the top spot on her list of most dangerous half-humans.

When Adam starts helping Kara find her true nature, Kara also finds affection for Adam. He is the only thing that makes her feel like life has a purpose, more than just killing monsters.
