The war is over. The Reds of Norta are finally free and the time for ruling Silvers are gone. Mare is living in the mountains of Montfort with her family but living a life filled with trauma and scars. Everyone knows the days of the lightning girl are over. Instead, Gisa Barrow, Mare's younger sister, decides it's her time to help the Scarlet Guard. The Lakelands' Reds are still living like creatures and the war is far from over. In the new country, Gisa meets a girl who will change her life as well as the rebellion.

A Queen Without Scars is about Gisa Barrow and her path after Norta's Civil War. She wants to help her family, her sister, and her people; the Reds, in the next step of the rebellion. In the next step for freedom.
