You cannot call it solved if you just finished a 1-faced cube. It's either you finish them all, or never finishes it. And that resembles life. It's either you finish successfully, or die as a failure.
It's also a fact that you can always solve it, unless someone takes one or more pieces out of the cube, may it be intentionally or unintentionally.
