No one knows why, but the dead have returned to Hawkins. Two years after Vecna's defeat, those who were lost have been found, and miraculously healed of all injury. But just how far did those wounds heal? In discovering this, Eddie Munson must learn what it means to be loved and Billy Hargrove must learn what it means to be human. Both must learn what it means to be alive again.

Steve(21) Hasn't had a chance to leave this awful place. He has stayed around for the kids, wanting nothing more to be there for each one's graduation. Confused. Lonely. Depression has really started to hit in the last couple of years after all of the tragic losses to the upsidedown. Nearly losing everything and everyone he's cared for and loved. Most everyone has gotten their chance to escape, Nancy and Jonathan moved to California after graduation. Robin's off at college. Until he realizes maybe he's not so alone here, sparking a true friendship with the most unlikely person, Eddie Munson. Eddie(22) hasn't been able to get out of this town either after swearing he would get the hell out of here many years ago. The kids are all graduating this year, which will most likely end up giving the two now men, no reason to stick around anymore.
