I gritted my teeth as Riven appeared before me, kneeling at my level, face filled with curiosity. In the darkness, Riven looked like a true god. His eyes glowed like the moon in his kingdom and his freckled cheeks shined like the stars that painted his skies. I hated this man but I did not fear him. Riven thought that bringing me into his darkness would scare me, that wrapping me in his shadows would send me running, but instead, he let me into his sanctuary. He thought he was a monster, but deep in my bones, I knew while he might be an infuriating ass, he was no monster. Call it my tragic flaw, but I would never fear this man.
