Martin Larrabee is the wealthiest man in Oakland, he is also, most likely, the strangest man in Oakland. One day he decides to call his friend Joshua and insist he come over. Eventually Joshua agrees. Martin regales him with a story of the amazing events that have occurred to him, in a long, and round about fashion. His tale is not credible, it is not reasonable, but it is, truly, incredible.

Highest Ranking: #1 in Humor [FEATURED, SEPT-OCT] An idealistic poet refuses to budge from the last parcel of land a developer needs to acquire in order to build a shopping mall. (Literary satire with pop culture references and environmental themes.) synopsis: The Myth of Wile E. is a riff on the modern obsession with fame and acclaim, as well as a mediation on the artist's place in the modern world, as seen through the eyes of a naive poet who is made simultaneously pathetic and heroic by the pursuit of a singular goal. In this novel, we meet an assortment of eccentric monomaniacs, from mushroom hunters in search of a legendary truffle, to birders pursuing a possibly-extinct bird, to competitive Duck Stamp artists, to "the World's Foremost Living Statue"...and even a very stubborn spider. Meanwhile, our narrator--a terrible, yet persistent, poet--battles a ruthless land developer who's determined to acquire the poet's humble property, in an escalating battle of wills that spirals out of control when the media gets involved. With these quirky events as a backdrop, we gradually learn of the misfortunes that befell each member of the poet's family in their various misguided quests for glory. We also learn why money makes the world go flat, why talent is a white elephant, and what it means for parents to love their children "to pieces." Some of my influences are Richard Brautigan (especially), Christopher Moore, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, and George Saunders, so if you like any of them, I hope you'll enjoy this, too.

Saving Leah Series Book 7 "So what do you admire most about women?" I ask the man as he sips on his coffee. He smirks as he sets his cup down, acting as if my question was some sort of joke, "Her complete submission, of course." I hum, disproving greatly of this answer as well as all the others before. "Birdie is not the type of submissive to give complete submission easily. What is your plan with that?" I ask him. He just laughs, "Every submissive can be broken in, it is only a test of a dominant's will," he says with a smirk. I smile tightly and slide his application into my folder, having all the answers I need. "So when do I get to meet her?" He asks, suddenly standing as he sees me gathering my things. I smile for real now, taking great pleasure in this part of the project. "Birdie is a flame in need of stoking, not extinguishing. I appreciate your time, but I have a lot of other candidates-" "There is nothing wrong with me holding my submissive up to high standards. I'm an incredibly experienced dominant and-" "This has nothing to do with your experience level. Like I said before-" I try to explain again before he once again cuts me off. He raises his voice going on about himself. I doubt he really cared for Birdie all that much. He's never met her. This is an ego thing. "You have a nice day," I tell him with a sigh, turning and checking my watch as I leave the coffee shop. Appointment four down, six more to go. ---- Birdie, the wild, sassy, and fiery child of Ellie and Charlie is now of age to have her own dominant. With deep insecurities about her own personality, she asks her beloved brother Weston to find her a dominant. Ethan set out in life to be successful and he did just that. He owns his own finance company, his house and a nice car...but no submissive. He finds Birdie's profile online and is intrigued by the vague descriptions and the extensive interview process he must undergo to meet her.

"So, let me get this straight. You stomped all over his paperwork?" She started. "Not intentionally, but yes," I confirmed it. "Threw a drink in his face?" She added. "Expensive red wine." I described. "Rammed into his car with yours deliberately?" she counted on her third finger. "Um...I'm not proud of that one," I said cringing. "And called him offensive names?" She ended the list and I winced. "Twice." I specified. "And you're still alive?" She blinked, looking genuinely surprised. "Geez, don't be dramatic or anything..." I frowned at her hyperbolic statement. "Maybe he's keeping you around to get revenge." She suggested. Possible. I wouldn't put it past him. "I didn't know alright!" I exclaimed. "Let's hope that excuse is acceptable.." She was merely amused. "Working with my new boss is going to be a piece of work." ** Synopsis: When the CEO of Signature Heights: Jensen Black, and a stubborn employee: Alexandra Brook, clash, it's a battle of wits & a war of perseverance. ''Let me help you, ma'am,'' a man who was probably the flight attendant said. Damn. Ryerson Reeds even had handsome flight attendants. The man stooped a bit, leaning close to her and taking the seatbelt from her hands. He was holding eye contact and Lyla felt herself grow amused as she stared back at him. He was going to start buckling her up before someone cleared their throat loudly. They both looked up to meet Reeds' blue-green eyes. ''I think I can help my wife, thank you,'' he said. Lyla's eyebrows shot up. The dude barely talked to her and he was already getting possessive? How does that even add up? Reeds stopped taking the two parts of the seat belt in his hands, ''you couldn't do this without help?'' he muttered to her savagely. Lyla glared at him, before he could even get the belt close to her she took it from his hands and snapped it in the right place. She gave him a sickly sweet smile and Reeds simply scoffed and walked to his seat. The rest of the plane ride was quiet. One would think after that small exchange they would start having some kind of conversation. Wrong. ___________________ This isn't a cliche story where the girl falls for the guy by a simply little gaze. She's stubborn, she's maybe a little relatable, and she's assertive. But she didn't think she was for him. Lyla Vell; the name itself oozed the confidence which was her, and Ryersoon Reeds? Two words to describe him: Arrogant and plain painful. And when these two personalities are in an arranged marriage. Shit about to go down. ___ This is my first Wattpad story. Hope you'll like it! This entire story is NOT mature. Only the last few chapters are and you can still finish the plot without reading those few mature chapters. For those who are hesitant to read the story because it is tagged mature, I'm promising you only the last few chapters are mature, you can read chapters 1-19 without any disturbance of smut. That was for those who're hesitant. Love you. DON'T COPY MY WORK!

I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Why would a girl like her need that much money? It must have something to do with why she was in the holding cell.
