After leaving his past behind him and moving to a new country with the company of his mother Vermont starts highschool during the fall of his freshman year. He's more nervous then ever, since he doesn't know anyone at all here .

But he quickly becomes friends with Finn, a guitarist freshman who helps Vermont settle in , and to say the least Finn knows everything about everyone and with his sheer full personality and passion for music him and Vermont forms a great bond early on as Vermont shares that same passion for music.

Rin, also a freshman is dealing with his own share of struggling , coping with a sister who's been sent away for rehab after several overdoses , and father nowhere to be found. He's not a loner, after joining the basketball team he quickly became popular with both ladies and his fellow teammates.
