Guarded by the light (A.L & J.H story)

The city was crowded, its streets bustling with people going about their daily lives. It was loud, chaotic, and filled with life. One lone figure walking through the masses seemed to standout; her bright red hair, fair skin, and crimson eyes catching the eye of many passersby. She paid them little mind, however, as her attention was focused on something else entirely.
As she walked, the world around her seemed to go silent, the sounds of New York fading into the background as her gaze settled on a tall building.
