Government Mistake

Seven government experiments get broken out of the facility they were being kept in, and thus the horrible conditions and experiments they were forced into. They flee to the city, and find themselves taken in by the kind scientists who once cared for them at the facility. But even with their new home and guardians, will they be able to outrun the people after them, or will they be doomed to a life of torture and abuse?

Possible triggers contained in the fic:

Child abuse, discrimination against intersex people and trans people, discrimination against albino people, discrimination against people with disabilities, honestly just a lot of prejudice, violence (not here yet, really, but it will be eventually), adults sexualizing kids in those very uncomfortable ways that society normalizes for some reason, food (again, not here yet, but eventually), characters talking about another characters pronouns and transness (if that makes you uncomfortable I won't judge), child abandonment (it's not happened yet but I don't want someone to become fond of the story and then have to drop out of it because they're triggered by a major story beat, controlling parent (it's genuinely being done because of their legit concern for the kids' well being, but still), nightmares about traumatic events, panic attack, ableism, a character losing a loved one, hostage situation (eventually)
