Kasis' whole world is turned on its head when his father kills his mother in a fit of rage. Heartbroken and with no reason left to live, he turns to the Ivy, the plant that ate the entire continent and several humans alongside it.
Despite his best efforts to die, he finds within the Ivy another world inhabited by people who call themselves Faeries, who live for today as best as they can.
But, the Faeries have a problem. A disease they call Blackwing has taken many of them and will take many more if it is not stopped.
Kasis, eager to prove himself to the Faeries in hopes they might let him stay in the world within the Ivy, joins a group of adventures on a quest to find the cure before it's too late.

Their job is to keep Phoenix alive while he tries to make money reappear and find a cure to Gold fever.
