After learning of Astrid Salvera's plans to use his soul to free her father from the clutches of Queen Davina's Monverta, Sebastian d'Aximos ends up in the Realm of the Fae as he and Astrid race to retrieve the mystical Black Quill from the dangerous waters of Lake Holalethe. Despite the deadly risks, Sebastian can't help but be drawn to Astrid and the trove of secrets she seems to hold close to her chest. Astrid, still reeling from the truth of her cursed bloodline and her inability to be a saviour in her own story, struggles to allow Sebastian past her defenses and finds herself spiraling towards the fate of the prophesied sinner.

But when Captain Matthias Soiree arrives with revelations to share, Abel's loyalties to Sebastian threaten to waver.

However, unbeknownst to this unlikely band of heroes, the goddess of Spirit's threads, Gaia, watches their progress and has vengeful plans of her own...
