I could see the hurt in his eyes and my heart was telling me to comfort him, but my head was screaming at me not to. He looks up at me with those chocolate brown eyes that have melted me so much inside. "Say something please, yell, scream, sing, I don't care! Just say something, anything at all." Tears flow from my eyes, down my cheeks. "I wanna go home."

Collapsing to the ground, you lay in the leaves catching your breath. This wasn't the first time you had run for him. It certainly wouldn't be the last. Rising to your feet, you propelled yourself through the darkness, leaves crunching underfoot as you raced. Your heart hammered in your chest, your nerves were wrecked. You were running out of time.
