*name* was a bully in a group, the group all collectively bullied this one kid for believing and being a 'nerd' about liminal spaces, aka basically what the backrooms are. The 'nerd' keeps going on about how he'll prove it to them and the group always makes remarks on how he was stupid and makes it up so they go back and forth until one day the 'nerd' goes missing. Eventually, a search is put out for the boy but no one can find him, after about a week or so of searching the group gets tired and thinks that the nerd is playing a prank on them so that they would finally believe him and what he was saying so the next night they all decide to look up on how to supposedly ender the backrooms and send one person there. That one person was *protagonist name* he volunteered to go and prove once and for all that this whole 'liminal space' shit was fake.
