Just a little short story I wrote one day while bored.
Wendy is from a different kind of world, and she is trapped there. But now she is finally on her way to becoming an outsider. Ride along with her and her friends as they wait in anticipation and reflect on how they got here.
I'm bad and descriptions but it's better than it sounds. Also I took a lot of inspiration from "Running Out of Time" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Oh and I was like 12/13 when I wrote this so...

Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Wendy thought she and Matt would be together forever-until he was accused of raping another girl. Everyone began to look at her differently just for being his girlfriend. Faced with judgment from all sides, she broke up with him. Unfortunately, the rapist turned out to be someone else. She's angry with everyone that let it happen: the police, her judgmental classmates, and even the victim. Only her new friend John seems to understand her pain...because he knows what it's like to regret such a choice.
