Does anger cause damage? If Georgia Ellenburg still believed in coincidences, she'd disagree. But George knows better. People get hurt around her, and now that her sister doesn't want to go to a college--a dream George gave up so that it could belong to Maeve--George is forced to stare down her past, and, in the meantime, protect her budding relationship with Sam, who she knows her anger will harm if given the chance.

Since having assumed guardianship over her sister, George has one goal: to keep Maeve safe, and, at twenty-four, she's done so by creating a life with minimal unpredictability. In her efforts, George has given up nearly everything so that her sister can have the life that was supposed to belong to George. Maeve, however, expresses other ideas, ideas that don't involve college or anything that George gave up for her sister, which pits George against the choices she's made and the anger she's buried because of them.

George has a secret, a secret that can no longer be considered a coincidence, and when Sam enters her life and begins to chip away at the pain she thought she'd let go, she must face the ultimate test of unpredictability: either confront her past or risk hurting Sam. Because her anger always hurts those around her.

𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑶𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓 was raised in a world where everything could be fixed - bones, reputations, mistakes. The daughter of a world-renowned surgeon, she's spent her entire life being polished into perfection. Controlled. Calculated. Unshakable. Until she meets 𝑷𝒂𝒖 𝑪𝒖𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒔í 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒔. Barcelona's prodigy. Ruthless, disciplined, untouchable. He knows her last name before she even opens her mouth - Carter - the same name that ended his best friend's career. The same name he's spent years hating. He humiliates her in class. She dismantles him in front of professors. He mocks her privilege. She exploits his temper. Every word burns. Every silence bruises. Every look feels too close, too sharp, too dangerous. But hate doesn't stay clean for long. And when an injury forces him to rely on her hands, the war turns into something impossible to stop. Shall we do an experiment? Hear me out: an enemies-to-lovers where love is complicated but never toxic. Where the female lead knows what she wants and takes it. Where the male lead doesn't growl, rage or slam her into walls. A journey with all the angst, secrets, spice and heartbreak of dark romance without the abuse. Are you ready? ******************************************** It's 1984, Queen on the radio and rage in the streets. Moira Bourne, stretched thin between her nanny job, family drama and university classes, fights for the recognition she deserves. Evander Ward, fresh from a gap year in Europe and eager to prove himself, is ready for redemption. Two people whose paths were never meant to cross. When they do, the collision blows their life to smithereens. ******************************************** "Pass the tea, will you?". It came over me - it being it all, the shame, the anger, the sense of injustice and the nine hours I hadn't slept the night before. Those, maybe, more than anything else, because I reached for said tea and, possessed by that mighty cocktail of resentment, spat in it. I did so making sure he could see it, he could hear it. Then I passed it over to him and waited. His smile, at this point, had turned overjoyed, putting the previous ones to shame, revealing their graft. He had received the answer he was hoping for. He took the cup and chugged it down. Looked me straight in the eye and drunk it all. ******************************************** Fair warning: mentions of racism, ED, assault, sexism, and classism ahead. You know where your limits lie. They were once inseparable-until Jackson walked away without a word. Now, four years later, they're forced back together as reluctant project partners. The boy who once protected her has become cold, distant, and impossible to read. If he hates her, Lilah's determined to hate him right back. But the more secrets unravel, the harder it becomes to ignore the truth: the line between love and hate is paper-thin. And Jackson is still carrying the one secret that could destroy everything-especially her heart. AWARDS: #1 (out of 45.8k!) for #angstwithhappyending #1 (out of 1.62k) for #badboynextdoor
