I turned to the side and saw the scars that formed letters – Tyler’s handiwork from two years ago. He had been in a drunken rage and thought it would be fun to carve words into my skin. HARD and BITCH were what the scars clearly spelled. I think Tyler blamed me for mom leaving. Which I couldn’t figure out, since I still have no idea why she left. I was pretty self-conscious of them, but when anyone asked about them, I would pass it off as a stupid teenage idea gone bad. Guys thought it was hot for some reason.
I heard footsteps coming down the hall and knew that Britney wouldn’t have left the bathroom. Tyler it is then. He banged on the door and turned the knob. Thank god I locked it.
