Through the Darkness

Life has a way of testing you, sometimes it drops the answers at your feet, you just have to be looking in the right place at the right time. Caitie Johnson was attempting to keep her life afloat. She was barely keeping her head above water, working as a barista at the local coffee shop, taking online college courses and being engaged to the demanding Griffin Scott. Griffin owns half the city, and as much as Caitie tells herself he loves her, subconsciously she knows she's just another possession. She has accepted her situation, that is until Liam Sullivan started taking up the corner booth of the coffee shop every Friday morning.

Liam has sworn off women, especially the money hungry self entitled ones who always seem to be the type he ends up with. Maybe it's self torture, anything to feel more alive. Work was taking over his life, it's hard being on top of your company, hard managing all the other companies under yours. He was certain there was more to life, and the only thing giving him any relief from the stress was coffee and conversation with the green eyed barista, Catherine.
