My lungs are burning. That's all I can focus on. The sharp thud of my feet smacking the cold, hard concrete below has nothing on the burning, nor the pin prick feeling of the harsh rain on my exposed skin.
I just need to focus.
I can't stop yet or it will catch me. At this point I am not even sure what 'it' is, I just know that if I stop, there is a high chance it will eat me... it definitely had a hunger in its dead eyes and that was apparent in the brief staring match we had before it started hunting me.
