When I first took a look into Azur Lane - I immediately saw a glaring issue with the universe. How do Siren Jets, (which appear to be supersonic and have pretty advanced guided munitions) manage to get their asses beat on a consistent basis by World War 2 fighters?
So I went ahead and fixed it, making it feel a little more... Real
In this little AU, things are just a little more brutal on the Ship-ladies' side, and the United States Air Force has to intervene.

Humanity had a dream to Explore and conquer the oceans , But that all changed when an unknown enemy appeared known as the "Sirens" humans were pushed out of the Seas by the Sirens advanced weaponry and humanity began to descend into a Dark age. Siren attacks had become frequent enough that humans were on the Brink of annihilation. However one Day humanity found a way to fight back against the other worldly threats, using mysterious objects known as wisdom cubes, the K.A.N.S.E.N. were created from said cubes. With the power of Warships embedded into their bodies, they allowed humanity to fight Back against the Sirens and begin to reclaim what was once lost. But divisions in beliefs on how to deal with the Sirens, threaten to obscure the original threat they came together to fight and turn humanity and its protectors against each other, either caused by Siren influence or the actions and beliefs of major nations leaders, or a little bit of both, one thing is for certain.
