The three guardians of Ninjago, the ninja, had found their True Potential. But when it was time for the fourth to unlock his true potential, he couldn't. He abandoned his destiny, leaving it behind to slowly burn to its death.
This AU story follows a what-if world where Kai never found his True Potential and The Great Devourer was freely able to destroy the lands of Ninjago.

While the team is split when Lloyd is possessed, losing their powers in the process, a new ninja goes under training to unlock her elemental powers. Friends around her give her encouragement and hope as she gets closer and closer to unlocking her true potential. But what of the ninja? Will they be able to stop Morro from achieving his goal? It's a wonderful day in Jamanakai city. Kai's plans for the day are to deliver a sword, get the loaded payment, buy necessities and potatoes to bake, go home, and take a rest. The last two have scratched off however, and it's all courtesy to this guy he comes across too; he's really tall, busting with muscles, owns a pretty pair of big eyes with green irises, and wears a damn charming smile. Everything goes upside down after that. Suddenly, before the gods could spare a blink, Kai is aboard a pirate ship with people he least expected to be with. Kai makes terrible plans, but this trip has got to be the worst yet as he literally fights for his life against one or two fellow mythical creatures. He's also fighting for his troubling heart, as the same guy who ruined his life never fails to skyrocket his heart rate through the sky, and churn his stomach like a towel being twisted into a rope. The first day they met was already stressful, let alone the following ones.
