Momoshiki controlled Boruto's body and used it to kill Kakashi. In a fit of rage, Naruto banished him from the Hidden Leaf and no one tries to stop him, not even Susuke Uchiha, Boruto's own sensei. The Otsutsuki utilize this time of strife to begin their invasion of the planet. (In this AU, Momoshiki is less sadistic and more sympathetic)
