Hannah was a quiet girl, even when she was bullied by everyone. Her skin was different, unique but she got bullied for it too. She had vitiligo it affected her dark skin to end up with patches of white and her black hair to have some white streaks, the only place unneffected was her eyes, they were beautiful honey brown. Her hair reached her shoulders, it was wavy but it wasn't natural, it was a perm, she learned to do it herself.

When her family moved to Hawkins, Dr Brenner found her and took her from her home. Her parents didn't care, they were glad they didn't have to hear her crying at night or seeing bandages on her arms. Hannah was 18 years old but she never felt like she belong, she only felt like she was a burden.

When she went to the Lab, Dr. Brenner noticed the markings on her arms and treated her different than the others, he numbered her 001 instead of her original number. He wanted her to feel like she belonged so she would obey him, the others didn't take it lightly though. 002 and his group ended up bulling her while she was in the lab but she made a friend through the hell. The Original 001 but she knew him as Peter or Mr. Ballard. He taught her English during her stay, it was a long and fun task. It only brought them closer.
