Loki was banished from Asgard and was banished to live on earth as a midgardian. Although his powers were taking away, Odin couldn't leave his son with nothing. He gave Loki endless amounts of money, a mansion, his expensive cars, and all the time in the world, but he would never be allowed into Asgard or any other realms again. This was his punishment for the unforgivable crimes he had committed against Asgard and against the family Odinson. Although Loki grew very comfortable in his new lifestyle on Midgard, he soon became bored. His playboy life style wasn't fulfilling anymore. While there was a party going on at his mansion, Loki needed to get away from it all. He needed to escape the hoards of woman after him, somehow no one would leave the party, so he did. He snuck out of his own party and began to drive his favorite car, a dark grey jaguar. He drove for many miles, passing countless states and even drove into the changing seasons. He soon found himself lost on a dirt road covered in snow. His car broke down and night was upon him. With nowhere to go and no one to help him Loki sat in his car shivering, from the bitter cold. Just as he was giving up he saw a faint light shining from within the forest. He decided to investigate. Maybe it was a nearby house or someone could help him out of the bitter cold. As he walked deeper into the woods, he came around a bend and a clearing in the middle of the forest. There was a large
Iridescent bubble. Within it was unaffected by the snow. He walked up to it but there was a force field protecting this closed off world. Soon he saw a woman with large white wings flittering and floating about with in the bubble. She saw Loki and grew scared. She flittered away behind a tree as Loki tried to get her to come out. A conversation ensued and they quickly became friends. Aziza was trapped within the bubble, and could not escape, how could he help her escape and why was she there to begin with. "Loki." Her hands were timid. They were much more shy than he had been, which should've made him wonder if he'd been too forward with his actions in the first place, and there was a tremble in each fingertip as she gently reached out and put her hands against his chest. He hoped that he hadn't given away his feelings, that his heart wasn't spilling out his thoughts through the morse-code splutter of each heartbeat as she put her palm against his heart. Her breath fluctuated from time to time, perhaps with a brush of his thumb across her mouth, or she became stunned by a thought or a feeling that floated through her. Sometimes their eyes were closed. Sometimes open. Regardless of what they could see, they stood in that embrace to feel the mingling of their breath and to hear the singing of their blood in their veins. "Darling," Loki spoke. The woman met his eyes. "May I kiss you?" Her gaze mellowed. It was all that he wanted to do. To say thank you. To say thank you for understanding. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for being here. Thank you for not trying to stab me in the kidney, as many people would've. It seemed that she wouldn't respond with words. It was the way that her jaw tensed as her muscles stretched, putting her on tiptoes so that she was tall enough to reach his lips. It was a split-second that her arms came up, resting now on his shoulders. His eyes met hers as he leaned in to bridge the gap. It was the way that it all went crashing down. __________________________ Lore is a book of short stories about Marvel's Loki. For a character as multi-faceted as Loki, it can be difficult for him to find love. Here are the stories of people who are drawn to him (whether they like it or not) and seem to fall in love with the maddeningly different aspects of Loki's character: a trickster prince, a tortured villain searching for redemption, a frost giant, a god of mischief and stories, a TVA agent, a would-be king and a sorcerer.

The people of Asgard are looking for a new home. They get a warm welcome on Earth, except for Loki. He is treated like a criminal of war, a terrorist. All they see in him is darkness. He is holding something that looks like a big syringe in his hands. "Yoohoo... Reindeer games! You home? I've got something for you!" The man stops in his tracks when he spots us sitting on the couch. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise we had company. And beautiful company at that, I might say. What's your name, beautiful? Do you have clearance? Williams, does she have clearance?" [...] Tony Stark walks over to me and takes my hand, standing just a little closer than necessary. "Nice to meet you, mr Stark." I reply, taking my hand back gingerly. [...] From the corner of my eye I can see that Loki has turned his chair to face the room, watching the exchange between me and Tony Stark with a hint of a smile on his face. I get the sense that there's not much that gets past the Trickster. Mr. Stark has already moved on, walking towards Loki. He is holding up the syringe like it's a Super Soaker gun, waving it back and forth. "This will only hurt a little, Bambi!" Tony laughs. First published February 2018. Edited april 2018.
