Years pass and Adam is now married and father of two girls. He's also a SVU detective. He loves his job, even though it can be overwhelmed sometimes. But he loves helping people.

But everything changes when his youngest daughter comes home from school. She's not the same happy Max anymore. Max tells him that some students were mean to her. Adam knows there's something more, something she doesn't dare tell. Adam does everything to help her, before it's too late. At the same time, dark memories from his childhood catch up with him.
