Peninsula

Europe is poised at the brink of war. Pro- European Union protest in the Ukraine has resulted in a fleeing President. The streets of Kiev are policed by a citizen militia. Under the auspices of protecting ethnic Russians, the Kremlin have reinforced their Naval base in the Crimean peninsula in southern Ukraine. Russian troops dig trenches along the strip of land connecting the peninsula to the mainland. With the region looking increasingly unstable, foreign powers are urging Russia to respect the Ukraine's territory and sovereignty. Whispers of war spread across the continent while the need for dialogue, not violence, is emphasised. Little do the Russians know, some foreign powers are already preparing for the the worst.
