Learning to Love

"While I was staring at the screen in thought, I felt Chance look at me. I could practically feel his stare on my skin. I turned my head towards him and saw him break. At the sight of me, his eyes immediately filled with sadness and a small frown took over his face. If my face displayed the horrible thoughts in my head then I understood why he reacted that way.

Suddenly, he stood up and reached his hand out. "Come on, I'll take you home."

"I'm fine. I can walk." I said, gathering my stuff. I needed some time to think about this new information.

"No. I'm not letting you walk home by yourself at night. What if he's out there?" He asked. The thought of him out there lurking around did unease my nerves.

After deliberating the idea I finally agreed."
