Five years after killing Levi Cornwall, Arthur Morgan is happy. He has a wife who loves him, an honest job he enjoys, and two beautiful children named Sadie and Hiram. All of it is turned on its head, however, when Francis Sinclair, Arthur's time-traveling friend and therapist, shows up in the ranch panicking because he has accidentally managed to change the past in a drastic way.
Changing the past can have disastrous, reality-ending consequences, so Arthur and the others are forced to go back in time to 1899 to follow the Van Der Linde Gang throughout the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, with hopes of fixing Francis' error. Along the way, Arthur is forced to confront a past he despises and put it to rest once and for all for the good of reality itself.

Aboard the Horizon, soon-to-be mother Heidi McCourt waits for the ferry to dock to reunite with her husband Stanley so they may begin their new life in Great Plains. Based on the 2010 Rockstar Games western 'Red Dead Redemption' and the 2018 prequel 'Red Dead Redemption 2', the Blackwater Massacre is an infamous moment in the Red Dead series history. It is a catalyst for much of the events in the first and second Redemption games. This story uses characters from the series to explore what may have happened on that fateful day. But with the gang being hunted down by the Pinkertons because of Blackwater and with the advent of progress and the time of outlaws dying out. Robert has to re-evaluate his place in the world, in a world were outlaws, cowboys, killers and thieves were no longer wanted. His relationship with Mary-Beth is on the line as she has been drawn closer to him, though his heart is still torn over his previous lover's loss. 1891: A Red Dead Redemption 2 Prequel
Dutch Van der Linde, Hosea Matthews, and their adopted progeny look different in 1891. Mostly peaceful, largely law-abiding (with some natural exceptions)...the tensions between Arthur Morgan and John Marston revolve not around the pull of a trigger but the daughter of Dutch Van der Linde, who John has grown up loving, and Arthur's just come to notice. How will their shifting affections affect, in turn, the motley family they've built? *** This is a new prequel to the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, featuring an OC, Dutch's daughter Emmylou "Lou" Van der Linde. A heads-up that I did write a short with Dutch's daughter in it a while back ("Three Protégés", in the Bellicose collection, but this one will be different. Mostly romance, some darker themes coming in (can't help myself). Definitely 18+! All characters from RDR2 belong to Rockstar Games. (Also a note that I couldn't find a credit for who edited the pic of young John I used for my cover - if this was you, I love it!)
