So saw a prompt on tumblr. What if when you found your soulmate your sight went from black and white to color? Just going to be a small 2-3 chapter story.

"You're the color to my black and white world" has become literal in a future, dystopian society. Scientists have found a way to make people unable to see color until they meet their true soulmate. They felt as that not being able to see color would stop civil unrest and discriminatory barriers, and by the time they met their soulmate people would be mature enough to make proper societal decisions. Linnea, the story's main character, believes her childhood best friend is her soulmate, but she soon learns that there are tricks to this color system. Hi readers! This is a short story which was inspired by my own experiences. It's been two years since I left my love and up until now, I'm still struggling to get over him. I had to let go of his hand not because I wanted to but because I had to make a sacrifice for someone else's sake and happiness. He was my greatest 'what if' and I was his greatest regret. Although most of the scenes happened in real life, the rest are pure imagination especially the intense and happy part. We may have just been a "once upon a time" in real life but in this story, I made what should've been our 'happily ever after'.
