Guards and Wards

I was born into a royal family, so that means I must have a guardian. I was given one upon my birth, having been prepared when my mom first found out she was pregnant with me. This guardian would stick with me for life, as my protector and caretaker. The thing with guardians are that they are not really human like me and my family or anyone else on the streets of our kingdom. They are called Guardians because they cannot be labeled as human beings. They are humanoid, yes, but certainly not human with all that strength they possess. But I didn't expect mine to be less then eager to meet me or be around me. Why does she avoid me like this?
