WATTYS SHORT LIST! When sixteen-year-old Sasha Nikolayeva opens her eyes on a horrifying tableau of dead and dying bodies, she can only hope to wake up. But the nightmare, if that's what it is, doesn't end. Instead, Sasha finds herself rendered mute and enslaved by a society which doesn't recognize her as a human being. To the citizens of Kingsgarden, "thralls" like Sasha are automatons brought into being by mages, incapable of speech or independent thought. Hidden behind a carefully crafted mask of soulless neutrality, Sasha silently endures starvation, degradation, and physical abuse at the hands of her captors as she watches and waits for an opportunity to escape into the glittering, majestic capital city of Kingsgarden. Despite visions of her old life which strongly suggest that she is suffering from some sickness of the mind--a neurological disorder, or perhaps simple insanity--Sasha is determined to take matters into her own hands and find her way home, whether she is imprisoned truly in a foreign land or only in her own mind. But as time goes by, Sasha finds herself drawn to the beauty and vitality of the City...and to the handsome Beastspeaker who only wants to give her his heart. Sasha knows she has no choice but to leave it all behind in order to go home, but she can't help but begin to wonder if "home" is where she thought it was and if the line between reality and madness is as fixed as it seems. This is a very early version of my novel "A Garden of Light and Shadows" which is currently under agent consideration. Cross your fingers for me!

Twisted Dark, Book IV ~~~ Red had left the Covens for a reason. She hadn't liked the rules and instead of being banished like BamBam had, she had taken the simpler route of simply leaving. It wasn't that she didn't love her family, she did, her twin Tiannia especially, but for someone who so enjoyed causing chaos, living on the edge of the Territories was so much more to her liking. At least in her bar, no one ever told her what to do. However that all starts to change with a fateful visit from her mother asking her to do a simple task and she find herself embroiled in more chaos than she would like while she had to end a feud that had been born within the blood of her family. Something she wants nothing to do with but several lives life hang in the balance while a werewolf threatens her own. With a choice being made to ensure her own survival, twisting her sister's own instincts against her, Red has a rather unforgettable fling with the werewolf who threatened to kill her, that leaves her craving more. As the werewolf states that she will be her breeder, Red leaves the werewolf territory to head back to her bar, cursing her own foolish actions in letting the domineering werewolf take control of her chaos. Escaping back to her bar where she can control the chaos of her life, the werewolf follows her home and starts to insert himself into her life. Red hates people interfering with her life more than anything else and the two clash tempers as the fire that had been ignited between them burns hotter and hotter. But when the werewolf starts to fall ill the longer he stays, Red knows she has to make a decision. Fall into fires that threaten to burn them both or that will weld them together so tightly there will be nothing able to tear them apart or let him die. Bang bang Let chaos reign
