Lena Letorra faces charges in the Lemora Empire. The charges are treason and murder, two things she very well did commit. But the Lemora Empire is not kind to such injustices and decides to lay a cruel punishment. Lena will have to survive  in the Woods, against the brutal wildlife and harsh climate. Even worse, the Lemora Empire decides to send the hounds, the wolves, and even few expert huntsman to make sure she was dead. No one expects her to survive, but she barely avoids death due to creatures of the dead.  The Faces are ghostly beings, spirits of the dead, and Lena must help them to survive. In order to do so, anything that stands in her way has its throat slit and heart taken out. She is determined to survive, even if an entire Empire wanted to kill her...
