Woosh!
Haha, I got bored and wanted to write a friend-fiction.

It's the year 2808, set in an alternate universe of Earth! Things haven't changed.. Too much. Well, if you ignore the impending apocalypse because humans are in a war with an extraterrestrial race, the fact that the Earth is broken, via the 'World Shatter' event, humanity has created a version of super soldiers for war and the beam.. We don't talk about the beam. Or do we?

Woo! Society can't get any more split now, can it? There are three select groups of humans that are more or less on a spectrum- That was the cause of the beam that was supposed to kill us.

Then again if it did kill us, technically it would solve a lot of issues, for example, why Earth has become more tainted than it already is- Seriously is the planet we're on still Earth??! And dear god the aliens, I'm certain none of us are surviving in this story.

guys please don't read this anymore lmao i write totally differently now💋 _________________ In a future where humans are genetically modified -- 'altered' -- at the age of sixteen, the world has been, until now, a safe place. Without changing a person's personality, undergoing the Alteration perfects their appearance, IQ, and even their immunity to diseases. No human passes the age of sixteen without being Altered. In the blink of an eye, things change. An ominous message is sent out to all of those below the age of sixteen, providing precise instructions that suggest they flee. Simultaneously, a deadly virus starts to spread all about the world, attacking only the Altered -- every human over the age of sixteen. The virus eats at the modified human brain, and soon the Unaltered begin to realise that the Altered are losing their minds. Home is no longer safe. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. Set on a pristine, futuristic Earth, this is the apocalypse like you've never seen it before. (Rated mature for graphic depictions of violence and mild language.) "Those aliens are not my concern, the Earth and her populations are. Now, Callisto of the Scout Regiment to Salutem, as a citizen of this planet and a soldier under my command-" "I stopped being a soldier a long time ago. And those aliens have done nothing to you, you didn't even know they existed until I told you about them. I joined this mission not because I was ordered to, but because I wanted to carve my name in history. But I will not mark my namesake as a murderer of the very first species we have found that is on par with human intelligence! If my legacy is to be the protector of those you refuse to acknowledge, then so be it." The room hissed and flowed with whispers and gossip between the different board members, like a waterfall being heard through thick earmuffs. The only voice to be clearly heard was Director Striker himself. "You are rooting for a lost cause, soldier. It is the manifest destiny of us humans to reach out and touch the stars. And if the only way to touch those stars is to sacrifice a few savages, then that is what we must do." Callisto felt her anger towards a man she once admired swell in her chest and wash through her veins with a burning fire. He was proposing mass genocide simply because he wanted what belonged to them. The wheel of history turns, but nothing is ever new it seemed. "Have you read a history book in your life, Director Striker? Manifest destiny is used a mere few pages before a genocide. It's not a motivation, it's an excuse." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fair warning: this is my very first original story so please be kind to my baby, she is a lifelong passion and a labor of love. •••COMPLETED••• •Please do not copy or post anywhere outside of these pages.
Who We Were by EmelySwift

It's not been an easy year. Not in the slightest. But things are slowly returning to some kind of fucked up normality I guess. Though even this is better than 8 months ago so I'll take the slight improvement. One other person's lapse of judgement has altered my life in way's I'll never really understand but this is my life now. I know I'll be okay. I have to be. 16 other people weren't okay. I was. By some chaotic otherworldly reasoning beyond my control, I'm okay. I'm ALIVE. Fucked in the head or not, I'm not letting it stop me. ~~~ Aria Clarke hasn't had the best year of her life. When one fateful night, she turns into an underpass and her car is dead center of a huge collision, killing everyone on sight but her. Almost a full year into her recovery, after spending 9 months being judged and tormented, swallowing pills to numb the effects, therapy appointments and learning to live her life with her new scars, she craves normality. Anything. Just one person to treat her how she used to be. When one of her closest friend drags her on a double date, that's the plan. Normal. Be normal. As Cameron spends his weeks with Aria, her walls crumble and she lets him in, showing him the darker side to her life and when he embraces it with open arms, things couldn't be more perfect. One accident later and Aria's world is flipped on it's head, sending her down a path that leads her 10,000 miles across the world and into the arms of her oldest friend. The years pass and with a new thriving life in her hands, Aria has a choice to make. Do you favour the people you knew in the past, or the ones who barely know the current you? After 4 years, no one really is the same as who they were.

I woke up in an unfamiliar world, inside a body that wasn't mine. I mean. A realm brimming with magic, dragons, and every fantastical creature I had only dreamed of. Yeah, no big deal, right? At first, I tried to live as normally as possible in this strange new world-*you know, just blend in*-but then, after a life-changing event (read if you wanna know), it hit me: this wasn't just any random world. Nope. It was *the world*. The one I had created in the novel I had been writing back on Earth. How fun is that? I'm now living in the very thing I'd written. And to make it even more interesting? I'm a character who wasn't supposed to exist. My arrival has already started shaking up the plotline like a snow globe, and I'm over here trying to figure out where the heck to even start. So, where do I go from here? Hi guys this is the updated and revised version from the web novel cause I lost access to that account, a lot of things and characters are altered or changed, and Im sorry for the long hiatus.
