Meredith and Nick were best friends since they were little kids, 5 years old to be exact. They met after a week Nick had moved in across the street from Meredith's house.

Until Nick had to go back to Canada with his parents and sister Erica when he turned 17 to continue his studies there and because his 15 years old sister started using drugs and became an addict.
