This book is a sequel to Mortance: A Miscarriage of Hope. If you have not read that book, you will not enjoy this one as much.

One princess is dead, another broken, the world is at war, and the Silver Girl has awoken. The end of the Thousand-Year War that has shaken Ert for twelve-hundred and twenty years has begun. Knights and Princesses and Kings and commonfolk alike are all in danger now, for war does not discriminate in its distruction.

As the realm burns, treachery and deception runs rampant in the south. A warrior runs from her home in the east with hopes of repentance. On the seas in the west, two captains and a prince mourn in the shadow of death. Meanwhile, the Silver Girl recovers from tragedy, and the unexpected snows of summer begin to fall in Viri. Dark times lie ahead.

Twelve-hundred years ago, the first king of Sacreon led a rebellion against an empire of witches. The war for who would rule next continues to this day. A false guise of peace came over Ert after two genocides, but there is no one so foolish as to claim the fighting is done. A prophecy claims that war will return to Ert when the moons are full once again on Ascenday. That day is growing closer now, and there is not a fool in the warring nations who does not dread its coming. In the midst of this all, the heirs to Sacreon struggle to find their place in this world of kings and knights and gods and elves and witches. A princess falls for someone she cannot hope to have, prince travels south to broker an alliance, a warrior seeks vengeance for the death of her sister. and the heir to a long forgotten kingdom quests for glory. Behind all of this, one man journeys north to an island of long forgotten magic with plans of justice, and The Wolf Witch goes west, searching for the one who can stop this war and unite Ert once again: The Silver Girl. Note: The Wolf Witch is meant to be a prequel to this book, and Sora will make an appearance, but she will not be a main character. By the way I take huge inspiration and influence from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones so if you like that you'll probably like this (and my other writings I hope). 46 parts Complete

Betrayal. Revenge. Murder. True Love. Knights. Princesses. Druids. Pirates. Madness. Gays. Magic. Intrigue. What more could you want from this darkly funny take on faerie tales? The old king is murdered. The crown prince is missing. Who in this diverse cast of characters is to blame? Is it the king's reluctant but dutiful wife? Is it the spiteful old queen? Is it the king's illegitimate son? What about the king's suspiciously loyal man-at-arms? Read and find out. Plenty of swashbuckling, magic, sarcasm, and plot twists await in the mythical land of Ulster. Trigger/Content warning: Violence, but primarily fantasy violence. Profanity throughout. Some brief crude humor. Some conversations and circumstances may be emotionally upsetting, primarily to do with parental abuse, as well as dysphoria. A character is stated to be suicidal, suicide is discussed. A character describes post-partum depression.
