Disguised as a man and captured by ruthless pirates, debutante Octavia Palmer must find a stolen treasure to save her father from debtor's prison. But can she escape with her life--and her heart-- when the devilishly handsome Captain Charles Atwell knows her secret?

***
Desperate to save her father from death in a debtor's prison, Octavia Palmer disguises herself as a man and sets sail to search for her stolen treasure. But as the war of 1812 continues to rage, she is captured by the pirate captain Charles Atwell, a dangerously handsome drunk who discovers her hidden identity. If she doesn't convince him to help her find the treasure, Octavia knows he'll expose her and have her killed, or worse, sold to his favorite brothel.

Charles Atwell blames the world for the death of his beloved sisters. Forced into piracy by the bloody pirate Jean Lafitte, he awaits the day he can drink himself to death or die in battle. He discovers a young woman dressed as a man on a ship he captures, but before he can expose her identity, she reveals that she knows the truth about what happened to his sisters.

Battling through ghosts, swamp alligators, sea battles, and a dangerous attraction, Octavia and Charles reluctantly team up to steal her family's treasure from Lafitte. But when the British ask for Lafitte's help to defeat the Americans at New Orleans, their chances of seeing their families again goes up in gunpowder.

❝You are just a WOMAN. You can't fight in this war, you're weak. It will chew you up and spit you out, you can't keep up with us.❞ The commander scoffed with a low chuckle. A couple of men behind him chuckled as well. Evander's gaze burned into the side of my head, awaiting my reply like everyone else. ❝If I can't fight, then why did the Queen herself ask me to take over your job for the time being?❞ I asked, pulling my dagger out from its sheath, taping on Commander Leland's breastplate with the tip, ❝Careful who you call weak Commander because you clearly don't know who I am.❞ He crossed his arms defensively, ❝Oh yeah? And who are you?❞ I leaned forward lightly, ❝The name's Aislin.❞ ________________ Her name was well-known throughout the kingdoms. Abbie has never been what one would call a typical lady. Trying to keep up with England's rich and powerful is far too much work, and Abbie has never enjoyed the endless games of chasing acknowledgement form her peers. When she's engaged rather unwillingly to the wealthiest lord in London, she knows without a doubt it will be the worst thing she'll ever face. So what does she do? She runs. Finn has been roaming the seas as a pirate aboard The Iron Lady for ten years. Since the death of his father, he's been pirating to provide for his mother, sister, and her two children--all the while unbeknownst to them. While there have been a number of heists that have ended favorably, their poor condition has changed little. Finn wearies of life at sea, and begins thinking about leaving the business to return home to Ireland for good. When he kidnaps a businessman's teenage daughter, he is absolutely certain that the ransom payoff will be the one to end his career as a pirate. Abbie has always thought that pirates are uneducated, cruel, and just plain terrible company. Finn is certain that rich girls are snobby and selfish and is dreading spending any time with one aboard the ship. But when their journey together begins, they find that their expectations might be entirely incorrect. With the voyage of The Iron Lady spanning the globe from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, from the Iberian Peninsula to England, neither lady nor pirate will be able to resist the adventure--and romance--that will come along with it.
