Uncharted, unmarked, unknown to the rest of the world, the island rising from the sea is a creature of its own. When Thomas happens upon it one morning, he can barely resist it's intrigue. It draws him near like a siren singing to sailors, it beckons him like a friend with secrets to tell...
And secrets it has indeed.
On the summit of the island's single mountain lay the ruins of an observatory. Abandoned in a hurry, left to waste away with the lifetime research of an Astronomer within it.
Across the vast plane of time, the voice of the Loneliest Astronomer on Earth touches Thomas. Together they dream and despair, they fear and hope. Together, they wander alone. And together, they unravel the secrets of the island and the skies alike.

[Wattys 2021 Shortlisted] [Wattpad Editor's Pick] [Featured on Wattpad's Fresh Reads List] *** When an asteroid crashes into the moon and pushes it closer to the Earth, Neal and his family must fight for survival, as tidal tsunamis ravage their coastline and volcanic ash shrouds the sun. *** Trapped between the stresses of high school life and his fear of upcoming college, Neal feels smothered by the overwhelming amount of change and responsibility he is going to face in the future. However, all of this changes when an asteroid crashes into the moon, pushing it much closer to Earth than anticipated, leading to catastrophic disaster to his large coastal town as the power shuts down and the tidal tsunamis ravage their coastline. Written in a hybrid-diary format, these journal entries chronicle the fears and emotions of Neal as he and his family struggle to survive in this changed world. Completed ✔ I watch a dazed Katherine. She whispered to herself. "Is this the part where I get kidnapped?" Is that what she thinks I'm here for? I don't want to kidnap her, just take her to dinner. I don't want Katherine thinking this. "Katherine I'm not here to kidnap you." She looks shocked by what I said. Katherine asked in a low voice. "If he's not, then what is he here for?" She's talking out loud to herself he concluded after that. Katherine wasn't paying attention to him. "To ask you out to dinner." Nicholas answers trying to get her attention so she realizes his intentions. "Katherine have dinner with me." "No, I can't" Katherine say after. He saw a look of confusion on her face. I'm being very clear. I don't see what she's confused about. "How do you know my name?" He hears her answering his own question. Why is she asking me this? I'm her best friend, of course I know her name. Nicholas didn't understand the previous question. "Because we've met before." The look that comes over Katherine's face is bewilderment. She doesn't get anything I'm saying. Its almost like I'm talking to a stranger. The thought shook Nicholas to his core because he's telling the truth. Katherine didn't believe him. He knew he's right after what she says next. "We've never met before aside from you stalking me," she tells him. Nicholas felt his entire world shatter around them. Katherine sounds like she doesn't know me. She sounds like someone who never met her bestfriend. She sounds like, a stranger... [1st draft ] Cover made by Chrissy_too_nice22

[FEATURED ON WATTPAD ×13] • AMBYS Favourites 2024: Fantasy Novella ▬▬ 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐒 𝐒𝐍𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐒 '𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧.' -𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐮𝐬 𝐙𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐤 I had met him. Taehong, I mean. Not once; not twice. But three times. As explicit meetings, of course. Each encounter so different they would seem worlds apart. Each phase bringing such a drastic change in him, I wondered whether it really was the boy I had met before. An enticing recounting of one of the most eventful things, since I had started. It's a small story, really. But don't trust me. Trusting me doesn't save you from reaching the end. Beware, I make promises I can not keep; it's my liability. And also, my strength. Because once you believe me, you might not want to cross me. ▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬ 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 🥇in 8 award shows 🥉in 1 award show 🏅Hyades Golden Book Featured by : @StoriesUndiscovered @WattpadDarkFantasy @WattpadShortStory @Fantasy @Fantasy(Newsletter) @WattpadUrbanFantasy @lowfantasy @SpeculativeFiction @WattpadLitFic @MysteryThrillerIN @WattpadAlternateUniverse @adventure ▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬ 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. 𝖈𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖙𝖘 - sulkytae

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2021 Shortlister. Standalone sequel (Rocks Can Dance) coming in 2023. Comments and critiques are both welcome and appreciated. I write characters from many different backgrounds, with many different experiences. If you share those traits and find that I have misrepresented anything, please let me know! I am feedback-friendly and here to learn :)
