At a young age a group of children were subjects of a kind of surgery on their brains.
15 years later these children developed strange abilities; super powers no less. Some of these children have gone on to doing amazing things. Others have been using their powers for their own benefit, using them to gain power in cities, anything they're powers could be used for to make them seem fearful, or even dangerous. What's left of the government put together funds for bounty hunters, more commonly known as Hunters, search for these children. These children have gone into hiding and are now known as Runners. However, not all children are bad...

But she has long escaped the holding facility where the 13 mutants grew up together, and now lives a dangerous life as an assassin hiding from government detection, slowly picking off high government officials as a day job, while secretly leading and protecting the now flourishing rebellion that will one day strike back. That is it was secret until the government discovered the 7th city base. Now Lightning and the rebels must struggle to finalize preparations within the two month deadline. In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. Morgan Carter was put in the camps and wasn't able to come out the same way she came in. She became their pet telekinetic/assassin, ready to kill and torture without hesitation and knew how to. She forgot her old life, including her name. Rylie Garner paraded as Light Glider around his city-their own personal superhero-escaping being caught with the help of his friends while trying to find his little supernatural sister, who was taken.
